Hapstone R2 is kitted with the cutting-edge rotating clamp module and delivers the ultimate combination of high precision, rich features, and scalability to knife sharpening enthusiasts.

Edition of Hapstone R2 was the first knife sharpener featuring four clamps. The new

kit features four asymmetric angled clamps that can be turned inward (for small knives) or outward (for long knives). Universal clamps utilize flexible flat spring and spacer screws to secure knives of any shape, including a full flat grind. Opti Clamps (Whole Milled Angled clamps) - the latest development of Hapstone for R2 knife sharpener. Opti is a fusion of Hapstone universal angled clamps (asymmetrical orientation) and Hapstone whole milled clamps (material and clamp shape). Opti Clamps utilize CNC milled superelastic duralumin alloy jaws with internal undercut for full flat grind blades.

Just bought my Hapstone R2 during the Easter sale. A friend had let me borrow his Hapstone and it worked so well I wanted to get one. Since I had just sharpened my knives right before I purchased it I didn'even open the boxes for a month and a half. The new Hapstone R2 seems sturdier than the one I had used before. I bought the bundle and the borite stones. It is an excellent knife sharpning system and pretty much fool proof. Just know that it takes time to properly sharpen a knife.

I am new to the guided knife sharpening sustem and have only sharpened my knives with a 2-sided stone. I have not begun to sharpen anything since there is so much information to absorb before messing up any of my knives. I looked a 3 different systems and settled on the Hapstone R2 Black. I spoke with Chris and he was super helpful and very patient with me as I know nothing about sharpenng knives. I just know that I can get better results than what I am getting now from my knife sharpening service. Thanks Chris and I would highly recommend this product to those looking to get into it.

The Hapstone R2 is a very solid well thought out system. Easy to assemble and Versatile with its modular additions. It has built adjustability to ensure you get a perfect bevel every time. Couple this system with Venev Diamond stone set and you have a set up that will sharpen many knives easily and quickly. I should add that I have used the Hapstone stone holder with Ruixen, DMT and now the Venev stones and it is a Stellar performer with any stones. I'm very impressed!

Very disappointed in the Quality Control of Hapstone. One screw on the stone clamp was completely stripped and not even attached, making the sharpener unusable. It was obvious and should have been intercepted by QC. One Star for Hapstone and Five Stars for Gritomatic for immediately correcting this when notified.

Great System I sharpen everything from small traditional pocket knives to kitchen knives to hunting knives and I am a bit of a perfectionist. For the money I am very happy with the system and can get scary sharp blades which are repeatable everytime.

Excellent Tool I purchased the R2 black as tsprof was out of stock. Long story short, the R2 is fabulous and rock solid. I love it and I can’t believe the other brands could be any better. It’s easy to set up and use too. I also purchased the Orion diamond and the boride t2 narrow stones. I highly recommend this guided sharpener. Customer service is excellent as well. I milled out a few pieces that I use with the R2 for making and sharpening gut hook knives. I would absolutely purchase again especially from Gritomatic.

Great product with zero customer service The hapstone is great, makes knives razor sharp couldn’t ask for a better product. But it comes with no directions or even a start guide. Basic questions were asked of the seller about five times and they all went ignored. You would think for the amount of money I spent in one go you would get some easy questions answered. But I never got a single response. If I’d had to do it over I would have bought a product that I was sure would come with directions and basic customer service. But here it is six months later, they’re asking for a review and I’m being honest. All in all I’m pleased but it had nothing to do with the seller. They don’t help and they just ignore.

Love GritoMatic staff I am new to guided sharpening tools. The people at Grit-O-Magic were absolutely wonderful with my purchase. One thing I wish was a better instructional manual or a You Tube University video explaining how to really use the tool. I am glad I practiced on an old knives first to try and learn the H2. Other than that I really like this sharpener and will fight through the learning curves. First knife came out like a razor. Not bad for a first time user.

Great Sharpener I bought this as my first large scale manual sharpener for my business. So far I am very pleased. The quality is very good and with the right combination of stones, you can really put an amazing razor edge on any blade. I purchased some of the accessories and the have added value to the whole machine. Well worth the money.
