Description

Hapstone CBN Start plates are made in Edge Pro form-factor and is used for sharpening knives on Hapstone, TSProf, and all Edge Pro compatible guided sharpening systems. CBN (Cubic Boron Nitride) is the second-hardest material after diamond.

CBN Plate consists of a CBN-bearing nickel plate mounted to a high-quality aluminum blank with laser engraving. Electroplated CBN provides rapid metal removal and low stone maintenance.

Hapstone CBN Plates are available in five grit variations. Hapstone CBN Plates don't compose the set of even progression but offer "repository" of stones to make a custom stone set.

How to use

Hapstone CBN Plates are recommended to be used with water as a lubricant for the best feedback, but can also be used dry. Clean or rinse after use, and store in a dry place in between use to prevent any oxidation on the metal matrix.

CBN Plates are ferromagnetic and should not be used on magnet-based knife sharpeners.

Got the stone and it looks like it’s been used. Will not be making another purchase from gritomatic again.

Hapstone CBN Start [6" x 1"]

This works great! I'm so glad Hapstone is offering CBN. Since this is 80 grit, it can cause quite a lot of vibration, so I found I had to periodically check the screws on my clamp to ensure they weren't getting loose.

These work well for the harder super steels like magnacut

Hapstone CBN Plate [6" x 1"]◽

I’ve only used the stones on 3 chef knives so far, so they’re far from broken in. The edge sharpness and finish improved with each knife. Still need to fully break them in to really judge performance on the stones. I’m only giving 3 stars because the 1200 stone has a scratch that runs across the stone near one end and if I rub the that portion over the knife you can feel it skip.

Hapstone CBN Plate [6" x 1"]◽

QC issue I’ve only sharpened three chef knives with the stones so far so I can’t really judge their performance. I can say that the sharpness of each edge and the finish of each edge improved with each sharpening. But there is still a long way to go before the stones are fully broken in. I gave the stones three stars because the 1200 stone has a scratch that runs directly across one end of the stone. If I pass that part of the stone over my knife, I could feel the stone skip. so kind of disappointed in the quality of that particular stone.

Absolutely incredible. Durable, affordable, beautiful finish and the 100 is simply the fastest cutting stone I've ever used (and I've used A LOT). It will shock you every time. Cannot go wrong.
