Description

Venev Centaur Series Dual Side Diamonds are used for sharpening knives on Hapstone and TSProf guided knife sharpeners, as well as freehand sharpening. Diamond sharpening stones offer excellent performance in sharpening knives of any steel.

Centaur Series is dual side diamond with two 1mm-thick diamond-bearing layers on the aluminum plate. The diamond-bearing plate contains evenly distributed diamond grains with resin bonding. The manufacture of bonded diamonds is more complex than for coated diamonds. Bonded diamonds provide better feedback and give the sharpening stone a much longer lifespan.

The OCB version of Venev Diamonds utilizes a brand-new yellow binder with no abrasive particles in the composition. OCB is available in fine grits only and offers better scratch-free sharpening results.

All Venev diamonds use FEPA-F grit classification. Centaur Series is available in six grit combinations.

F80 + F150

F800 OCB + F1200 OCB
F1200 OCB + F1500 OCB

F80 to F240 utilize legacy binder. F400 to F1200 utilize OCB binder.

How to use

Venev Diamonds are recommended to be used with water as a lubricant for the best feedback. The diamond does not absorb water. Splash water on the stone's surface. Dry usage is an acceptable practice, although it results in faster wearing and speeds up stone loading.

Venev Diamonds may have the flatness tolerance up to 0.2mm. Additional flattening and lapping can be performed by a customer to improve sharpening quality. We recommend using loose silicon carbide powder. Using a diamond lapping plate is not recommended.

Got the set for my new Hapstone R2. Seem great ,good feel and they do not seem to wear just get dirty. I would note the grits in the finer stones are not even close to US or Japan , they are a lot finer, just be sure to check the chart they have so you don't buy other stones you don't need.

I haven't had a chance to actually use these stones just yet because as a Christmas present for me from my wife, she says they have to be wrapped and put under the tree until Christmas. I did however get 'permission' to handle & hold them and their quality is very apparent... Can't wait to sharpen our kitchen knives with these!

I’m a newbie knife sharpener. I slapped the Venev stones on my new TSPROF Kadet Pro and went through the various grits. Wow, they are smooth with great feel / feedback. I got a great mirror finish on my kitchen bunka and Spidy Para3. I can’t believe how easy it all was (Ok, I did watch around 50 sharpening videos to learn what guided systems are all about). I actually started out with big diamonds stones to do freehand sharpening. That really takes skill and patience. I ruined a kitchen knife but learned a lot. So, while I’m learning to do freehand sharpening, I can use my most awesome guided system with the cool 6” Venev stones. They are double-sided. I really want to try out the Orion single sided stones next. Now, I need to learn how to lap / freshen up these stones.

So far so good! Have only used them on an s90v blade so far, but they really tore though a reprofiling rather quickly. Very happy with them.

Nice stones for a few bones These stones take the work out of sharpening and makes it very easy and convenient to not only sharpen but also put mirror edges on my knives. I'll definitely be buying more because they're worth it!
