Ruby Ceramic Sharpening Stones are used for sharpening knives on KME and Hapstone knife sharpeners. Ruby stones are made of Alumina ceramic with a high hardness rating and estimated grit approximately 3000 JIS.
Ruby Ceramic scarcely wears over time. Extra-fine ceramic stones provide a super finish for the cutting edge.
Ruby Ceramic is preliminarily lapped and does not require lapping after purchase. Ruby Ceramic stones should be used with oil as a lubricant (oleic acid, WD-40, refined olive oil).
Advantages of aluminum blanks
Stones mounted on aluminum blanks are thicker than stock KME stones. We recommend using the thickness compensator if you use stones of different thickness.
