Jasper sharpening stones are used for finish sharpening and honing knives on Hapstone and Edge Pro sharpeners. Jasper is a naturally abrasive material of high density. Jasper stones are mounted on high quality aluminum blanks.
Jasper is mined in the Ural mountains in Russia. Jasper is a dense, opaque variery of cryptocrystalline chalcedony, contains significant proportion of Fe-oxides and hydroxides. Jasper does not consist of individual abrasive grains of the same size. A Jasper microquartz structure consists of a fused crystal grains of different sizes.
