Description

Work Sharp Precision Adjust is a fantastic sharpener. However, it's limited by stock sharpening stones mounted on the proprietary holder.

Premium 4" Stone Holder for Work Sharp Precision Adjust overcomes the limitation. As of today, you may use any 4" sharpening stones including the KME form-factor and Venev Dog Series dual-side diamonds. Premium Stone Holder is made of metal.

Note. It's very important to keep a sharpening angle consistent. The angle should not change when progressing to the next stone. If the thickness changes, the sharpening angle changes. Unchecked, this can ruin your sharpening. Use a digital angle gauge to monitor the sharpening angle when you replace a stone in the stone holder. Use the angle adjustment knob of the sharpener if necessary.

You can not keep the Angle Witz this Stone Holder The Stone holder is to loose on the Rod, so you can‘t hold an consistent Angle while sharpening your Knife. The hole for the Rod is on Both ends to wide. Sorry for my English

Does not work Holder does not hold the stones flat. There is a gap between the stone and holder. I would not recommend this product.

Worth It! I’m new to sharpening. I’ve done a handful of knives on the cheap stones my Worksharp came with and THOUGHT it was decent. Two knives with these stones made me realize just how much better they are! If you want absolutely game changing edges in your knives, buy these stones!

With careful setup, this works well Works great with Venev Cerberus stones, but you need to ensure the stone is completely flat against the holder, otherwise you will be at a slightly different angle than intended.

It’s ok It doesn’t hold the same angle as the original set up from work sharp. Doesn’t really fit without hitting the blade holder at 15 degrees. Also, it is a bit of a pain to get the stone to sit flat. Not sure i would get it again.

Could use improvement The stone holder works ok, but needs some improvements on holding stones that are square. It holds the notched stones ok, but putting in a square stone, the stone does not sit flush with the holder and has tendencies to be un even and that will cause problems with angle on your knife. Suggestion, make a second holder for stones without the notch, so that there is a flat square face on the end of the holder, to butt up the square edge of your square stones. I like the nice aluminum.

Stone holder works great with KME mounted ceramic stone and strops. Does a good job with Venev 4” Cerberus, holds tight, but you have to adjust the stone to sit level. I wish the holder was more square so stone would mount flush.

Expand Work Sharp Capability It's nice to have the ability to work other grits for the Work Sharp than what comes with the Elite unit. The holder has nice spring tension to hold the diamond stones for use. Stones fit easily and require little centering. The stones lie flat without any gaps underneath which another reviewer had issues with. The holder could use a better design for the fingers to hold to stroke the stone on the edge. After adding water to the stone surface the fingers need to be dried off otherwise slip a bit. I added some anti-slip strips so don't need to dry the fingers every time.

Works really well. Easy to change stones and also easy to disassemble and clean. I've sharpened 60-70 edc knives, many reprofiled. The only reason that its not a glowing 5 star review is that on some stones, the clamp sort of angles up allowing the stone to raise that end approximately 1/16 of an inch off holder. Besides that small issue, it works great with 4 inch; Venev "Dog" diamond stones, diamond plates and metal backed leather strops.

Seems okay It’s a decent holder, but machined and finished in a hurry. The stones will angle up as they are used, so you have to be ready to re-affix the stone so it is flush.

Stone holder does not hold stone properly. The black plastic piece flexes changing the angle of stone at that end while using. I have retired this product for now.

Hapstone changed the design to be similar to the Leading Edge stone holders where the "slider" covers the top of the stone holder. This helps restrict the slider from angular change so it won't have as much of the rear part of the stone lifting problems as the first generation when the spring tension pushes against the stone.

The newest generation Leading Edge stone holders do not have a spring at all, has internal tracks/guides, has a slider covering the top, and tightens by screwing the handle in so the stone is 100% secure and level. The difference is that it is made of PLA thermoplastics but it is definitely a more secure stone holder than the Hapstone holder. The Leading Edge stone holder is also adjustable to accept a wider range of stone sizes, slightly longer and shorter than 4 inches, or even stones without any dovetail backing.

Unfortunately there are no long rods available at this stage, but if you use the LE series 6 inch stone holder for Work Sharp precision adjust, then you don't need longer rods. The rod guide inside this stone holder works just as well with the rod halfway inside as it does with the rod all the way through. It aligns and works very well with the standard rod length.

The back part of the Hapstone stone holder is actually aluminum. Due to the spring design there will always be some slight stone end lifting in this design.

We actually have completely redesigned newly released 2nd generation stone holders for 4 and 6 inch stones for the Work Sharp precision adjust.
