Suehiro W8 8000 sharpening stones are used for finish sharpening knives on Hapstone and Edge Pro knife sharpeners. All W8 8000 stones are 5-6mm thick and are mounted on high-quality aluminum blanks.
W8 8000 is part of Suehiro traditional Waterstone series which includes Kouga 3000, Rika 5000, Shiramine 6000, W8 8000 (Junpaku) and G8 8000 (Takeiro). These stones are not available in a wide range of grits. W8 8000 is the aluminum oxide counterpart of Suehiro G8 stone. Traditional series does not compose the set of even progression but offers "repository" of premium stones to make a custom stone set.
W8 8000 is preliminarily lapped and does not require lapping after purchase.
W8 8000 should be used with water as a lubricant. Do not soak W8 8000 stones in water. Just splash, or use a water spray. Never store stones in water. Never dry near heat.
