Shapton Pro (Kuromaku) sharpening stones are used for sharpening knives on Hapstone and Edge Pro knife sharpeners. Shapton Pro is a high-end series from Shapton. Shapton stones are made of aluminum oxide. Narrow stones (12 mm wide) are suitable for recurved blades. All Shapton Pro stones are 6 mm thick and are mounted on high quality aluminum blanks.

Many end products are made by Gritomatic. We buy Shapton Pro sharpening stones from international distributors, perform the cutting, flattening and lapping, and mount the stones to blanks. We keep the names of the original sharpening stones in the names of the finished products, as well as the countries of origin of these stones.
The first thing you should consider when combining stones from different brands is grit scale. Gritomatic and Boride use FEPA-F, while Shapton Pro uses a different scale. Shapton Pro 5000 is approximately equal to F 1200. That means that Shapton Pro 2000 will be a step down from FEPA 1200. You should consider Shapton Pro 8000 instead.
