Description

Polishing Tapes (Lapping Films) are the alternative to sharpening stones. You can buy online a lapping film of virtually any grit, but what makes lapping films unique is ultra-fine versions. Polishing Tapes are PSA-backed (pressure sensitive adhesive) and should be attached to empty blank by the customer at his own discretion. One tape can be used approximately 5 times before they need to be replaced.

Given the excellence of the Venev stones combined with the Hapstone RS all was not as good with the polishing tapes I recently ordered. I asked and was told they were Diamond based tapes which it turned out they are not. 90% of the sharpening I do is comprised of different varieties of the super steels and these were useless to me.

Company employee was helpful and courteous. The hapstone RS is a very well made tool. Distinctly a a step up from the KME I have used hard for the last 6 years. It isn’t bad but this one is more stable, precision made and accurate. The three diamond Stone Vanese stone set is phenomenal! They cut cleanly and quickly. A little more work to clean up after sharpening but definitely worth the extra time. I’m a little disappointed with the edge pro honing tapes however. I asked for diamond lapping tapes and it turns out these are not. Overall, with the exception of the lapping tapes I couldn’t be happier with my order. The products arrived within the prescribed and estimated time frame of 6 days and in excellent condition.
