Description

Spyderco Ceramic Stones are used for sharpening knives on Hapstone and Edge Pro knife sharpeners. Spyderco stones are made of alumina ceramic with an extremely high hardness rating. Spyderco Ceramic scarcely wears over time.

Spyderco Ceramic Stones are available in Medium (estimated #600), Fine (estimated #2000) and Ultra Fine (estimated #5000) grits.

Spyderco Ceramic is preliminarily lapped and does not require lapping after purchase. Spyderco Ceramic stones should be used with oil as a lubricant (oleic acid, WD-40, refined olive oil).

Very nice touch up stone,a Great working edge!

Typical excellent Spyderco quality. This thing is sooooooo smooth and puts such an amazingly high polished finish to your edge! I have the Spyderco sharpmaker and the optional UF rods for it so I already know what they’re capable of so that’s why I had to get this for my Edge Pro. I used this on my Maxamet Para 2 to put a screaming hair popping scat edge in and it didn’t disappoint! I used my edge pro diamond matrix stones up to 2300 grit (I don’t have their 4000 stone yet) and then hopped up to this stone. It left a VERY highly polished, mirror like edge on it with zero remnants of a burr. I did hit it with about 8-10 passes per side with a firm leather strop loaded with gunny juice 1 micron spray after this stone just to really put an extra pop to it but 99% of that highly polished edge in the picture was from this incredible stone. You want to use VERY VERY light pressure with this stone. I also use an edge trailing strike with this stone as well so it works almost like a strop. It makes for an edge that’ll pop my leg hair with ease just running it through the hair and not touching the skin! It just tree tops them right off. It goes through phone book paper with such ease with almost no noise and you can easily carve S’s in the paper.

Haven’t used them yet, but I’ve been impressed with the ceramic rods in the Spyderco Sharpmaker. They do a superb job, including super steels like M390 & D2. For routine sharpening I expect these 3 stones will be my go to stones in my Tsprof Kadet. The stones and mounting planks are beautiful. Shipping was perfect, including packaging speed in shipping.

Spyderco ceramic stones vary in thickness on my Work Sharp Precision Adjust. I have owned the Spyderco ceramic bench stones for many years and have liked them. I purchased them (medium, fine, and ultra-fine) for use with my modified Work Sharp Precision Adjust and was disappointed to find that they vary in thickness by more that 0.02" between them. I have to readjust the angle with each change. Not a huge deal but inconvenient. I still like the results though better than diamond alone.

One of my favorite utility edge finish stones. One of my favorite utility edge finish stones That leaves the edge sharp with the minimal grain marks that make edges fragile. Finishes an edge sharp but tough. Nicely mounted and ready to go!
