Idahone Ceramic Stones are used for sharpening knives using KME or Hapstone knife sharpener. The stone has an extremely high hardness rating.
Idahone Ceramic scarcely wears over time. Ceramic stones are available in two grits: medium and fine.
Idahone Ceramic stones should be used with one of these lubricants:
Idahone Ceramic stones do not have any minor defects.
Idahone Ceramic stones do not require any preparations. It is naturally lapped. This is a big advantage because the difficulty of lapping Ceramic is very high.
We buy large ceramic stones directly from Idahone and cut them.
Grit terminology is not applicable to ceramic sharpening stones. The behavior of ceramic stone depends on its density and how good it was lapped. Our estimation is F400 for Medium grit, F 800 for Fine grit.
