Kuroto 1000 sharpening stones are used for sharpening knives on Hapstone and Edge Pro knife sharpeners. Kuroto stones are made of aluminum oxide. All Kuroto stones are 5-6 mm thick and are mounted on high-quality aluminum blanks.
Kuroto 1000 is part of Naniwa Kiken series which includes Kuroto 1000, Hayabusa 4000, Fuji 8000 and other. Kiken series does not compose the set of even progression but offers "repository" of premium stones to make a custom stone set.
Kuroto 1000 is preliminarily lapped and does not require lapping after purchase.
Kuroto 1000 should be used with water as a lubricant. Soak the stone in the water for 5 minutes before use. Never store Kuroto stones in water. Never dry Kuroto stones near heat.
