Cerax sharpening stones are used for sharpening knives on Hapstone and Edge Pro knife sharpeners. Cerax is the middle range line of sharpening stones by Suehiro. Cerax stones are made of aluminum oxide with the vitrified binder. All Cerax stones are 5-6 mm thick and are mounted on high-quality aluminum blanks.
Cerax stones are universal and can be used to sharpen knives of any steel including high carbon, vanadium, and chromium steels. Cerax stones are preliminarily lapped and do not require lapping after purchase.
Cerax should be used with water as a lubricant. Soak Cerax in the water for 5 minutes before use. Never store stones in water. Never dry near heat.
Note. Suehiro sells two series with Cerax word: Cerax and New Cerax. Although New Cerax has been released after Cerax, the word "New" is miscarried because it may you think "Old" Cerax is bad. Suehiro continues selling both series independently. In contrast to New Cerax, Cerax series does not compose the set of even progression but offers "repository" of premium stones to make a custom stone set.
